At 19, I was in an intense car accident and was prescribed Percocet for three months. I had no education about the risks of these pills, and before I knew it, they took control of my life for nearly eight years. But I fought hard to reclaim my life. Rediscovering a higher power and finding strength in community played a huge role in my recovery. Since September 30, 2019, I’ve made the personal choice to live free from drugs and alcohol—and it’s been life-changing.
